Take a screenshot on your MacBook Air or MacBook Pro
MacBook lets you take a screenshot of the entire screen, a window, or simply a portion of the screen with simple shortcut key combinations. Moreover, newer versions of macOS like Mojave and Catalina come with a preloaded screenshot app as well.

Take a screenshot of your entire MacBook screen
First, let’s learn how to take a screenshot of your entire screen on MacBook Air or MacBook Pro!
To take a screenshot of your entire screen, all you need to do is hold down on three keys i.e Shift – Command (⌘) – 3
After pressing Shift – Command (⌘) – 3, the screenshot will appear as a thumbnail on the bottom right of your screen for a few seconds. You can click on the screenshot on the bottom right of your screen and it’ll give you the option of editing the screenshot i.e if you want to crop the image or something like that or You can wait and by default, it’s going to save the screenshot as an image at the top right corner of your screen!

Next, If you want to take a screenshot of a specific portion of your screen, press and hold Shift – Command (⌘) – 4 together!
This will turn your cursor into a crosshair. Move it to where you want to start the screenshot, then click and drag to select the area.
You can also press the Esc (Escape) key to cancel taking the screenshot.
Release your trackpad or mouse button to take the screenshot!
You’ll see a thumbnail at the bottom right corner of your screen, you can click on it to edit the screenshot or wait for a few seconds and it will save the screenshot to your desktop.
Take a screenshot of a window On MacBook
Now if you want to capture a specific window or menu, you can do that by pressing Shift – Command (⌘) – 4 together and then pressing the spacebar.
This will change the crosshair into a camera.
Now move the camera over the window you want to capture. This will highlight that specific window you want to grab a screenshot of.

The latest versions of macOS (Mojave and Catalina) come preloaded with a Screenshot App.

Screenshot App lets you take a screenshot of the entire screen, a specific window, or a portion of a screen with few simple clicks. You can also use this app to take a video of a whole or just some portion of your screen.

There are a number of ways you can take a screenshot on Windows 10 PC. The simplest way to take a screenshot on windows 10 PC is by pressing the Windows key – PrtSc key together.
This will take the screenshot of the entire screen of Your windows PC and save it as a PNG file in the Screenshots subfolder in the Pictures folder, i.e; Pictures -> Screenshots

If you only want to take a screenshot of only a specific window, you can do that by using the snipping tool.
You can access the snipping tool by pressing Windows – Shift – S key together.
To take a screenshot of a window, you can select the Window Snip option.
Now hover the mouse over the window you want to take a screenshot of, this will highlight that window. Now click right click on that window and it will grab the screenshot of that window.
The screenshot will appear as a thumbnail at the bottom right corner of your screen. Click on that thumbnail to edit the image and then click on Save As to save the image.

You can also take the screenshot of a specific portion of your screen with the help of the snipping tool.
Again, press Windows – Shift – S to access the snipping tools. Then select rectangular snip.
This will turn your cursor into a crosshair. Now move the crosshair and select the portion of the screen you want to take a screenshot of and then release the mouse or trackpad.
The selected portion will be grabbed as a screenshot and appear in the thumbnail at the bottom right corner. Click on the thumbnail to edit or crop the image and then select Save As to save the image as a PNG or JPG file.
