Ever since the start of 2018, Vivo has been surprising us with one innovation after the other. There was the under-display fingerprint sensor, time-of-flight 3D sensing technology and of
Vivo Nex Dual Display: Specs!
The Vivo Nex 2 comes fully loaded with all the latest tech in it. The most obvious of it is the dual super AMOLED displays, something we don’t see every day. It has a 6.39-inch Super AMOLED screen in front and another at the back at 5.49 inches. However, Vivo Nex Dual Display Edition smartphone is not all style and no substance. It comes loaded with Snapdragon 845 Soc, Packs 10 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. Besides that, it also comes with the pretty cool camera setup, under-display fingerprint scanner, a headphone jack and a 3500 mAh battery.
Vivo Nex Dual Display: Build Quality
Now that we have got specs out of the way, let’s talk about the build quality of the phone. The Vivo Nex 2 has a slight heft to it but really feels good in the hand. If there is one phone I can compare it to, It would be iPhone XS Max. Holding the Vivo Nex 2 is similar to holding iPhone XS Max. Both, iPhone XS Max and Vivo Nex 2 sides have a metallic finish which is very similar. And every button on Vivo Nex 2 feels solid and nice to press. This is the highest compliment I can give to Vivo Nex 2 since iPhone XS Max costs twice as much. That’s it, you won’t be disappointed with the build quality of Vivo Nex 2.
Vivo Nex Dual Display: Display
Moving on, Let’s talk about the display of Vivo Nex 2. The main display of Vivo Nex 2 is amazing. It is sharp, has good contrast levels, good viewing angles, and everything you would expect out of a good Super AMOLED Display. Now let’s talk about the elephant in the room, the second display on the Vivo Nex 2. Yes, it’s also a Super AMOLED display and at 1080p this is an even better display than the one on the iPhone XR. So, In terms of display quality, rest assured The Vivo Nex 2 has amazing displays.
Vivo Nex Dual Display: Performance
Now let’s move on to performance, with a Snapdragon 845 paired with 10 GB of RAM there really is nothing much you can say about performance on Vivo Nex 2 except that it’s amazing. Launching apps and multitasking on a daily basis is a breeze, it is really really smooth. Gaming on this device is also a joy. I played PUBG on ultra settings to see how this device would perform and I must say it is buttery smooth. It does get a little warm after some gaming but it’s nothing too serious. Overall, I am really pleased with the performance of Vivo Nex 2.
Vivo Nex Dual Display: Speaker
Moving on to the sound. Some previous phones from Vivo tend to have really poor speakers but that’s not the case here. Vivo Nex Dual Display Edition comes with a single firing speaker that is situated at the bottom of the device. It does the job well in terms of volume and sound quality but I would love to have seen stereo speakers here. The volume actually gets pretty loud and does not crack even at the highest level. I personally think the sound of Vivo Nex 2 is ok. It’s not the best but it’s good enough for a single firing speaker.
Vivo Nex Dual Display: Battery
Talking about the battery, with 3500 mAh battery in the Vivo Nex 2. It actually sounds pretty decent. However, I noticed the battery life was not as great as I would like it to be. The good thing is the charger in the Box provided by Vivo charges up the device pretty quickly. So that actually helps a lot.
Vivo Nex Dual Display: Camera
Last but certainly not the least, let’s talk about the cameras on the Vivo Nex Dual Display Edition. This is my most favorite part of the device because I know it has an amazing concept with the dual displays but I think the camera here is the real deal. With another display at the back, you only need one set of cameras which means rear camera in the Vivo Nex 2 doubles up as a selfie camera as well. This means all your photos will look equally as good whether that’s a landscape, a Portrait or a selfie. There’s not much to complain about but just to get it out of the way, the camera on Vivo Nex 2 is not as good as the cameras on other flagships like Huawei’s Mate 20 Pro, Samsung Galaxy Note 9 or the iPhone XS Max.
My Overall thoughts for the Vivo Nex 2 are the build quality is amazing, displays are really really good, the camera is good, not great. Overall, In my honest Vivo Nex Dual Display review, I think the phone is a pretty good purchase provided you are ok with the battery life.
